Pennsylvania Overview

Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission (PFBC) requires registration for ALL watercraft on Pennsylvania waters — including non-motorized kayaks and canoes. Pennsylvania's 2-year registration term is a good middle ground — not as expensive as annual renewals, not as long a commitment as Ohio's 3-year term.

⚠️ Kayaks Must Register in Pennsylvania

All watercraft on Pennsylvania waters must be registered with PFBC. Non-motorized vessels: $22 for 2 years. Register online at fishandboat.com, by mail, or at any PFBC license agent (most sporting goods stores).

Pennsylvania Registration Fees (2-Year Term)

  3. Submit to PFBC regional office or licensed agent: title, REV-336, bill of sale, photo ID, payment ($22.50 title + 6% sales tax + registration fee).
  4. Processing: 6–8 weeks for new title. Temporary receipt issued immediately.
